Case Study: Box achieves data-driven inclusion insights and targeted D&I improvements with Culture Amp

A Culture Amp Case Study

Preview of the Box Case Study

How Box focused in on diversity and inclusion

Box, a global software company of about 1,500 employees, needed to quantify how different groups experienced inclusion and whether the company was effectively building diverse teams. To establish a baseline and identify gaps, Box partnered with Culture Amp and Paradigm to run an Inclusion Survey that captured feedback from roughly 70% of employees.

The survey’s heatmaps and subgroup analysis made exclusion patterns visible, enabling Box to centralize and fund employee resource groups, require executive sponsors, and drive team-specific fixes (for example, rotating notetakers and leaders attending ERG meetings). As a result Box gained an actionable baseline—82% report a favorable sense of belonging—set hiring targets and executive goals for diversity, and now tracks progress through regular re-surveys.
