Technology Company Improves Performance of its Software Engineers

A 1,000+ employee technology company that hires software engineers at scale needed a reliable way to predict which candidates would succeed long-term. The challenge was to identify measures that correlated with on-the-job performance across diverse engineering roles.

The company partnered with Criteria and ran a validation study using the Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) and the Employee Personality Profile (EPP) on 96 incoming software engineers, then compared scores to later performance. High scorers on the two assessments performed 42% better than low scorers, pass rates were similar across demographic groups, and the company adopted the tests into its hiring process.
