Schweiger Dermatology Group Reduces Turnover by 57%

Schweiger Dermatology Group is a full-service dermatology practice with over 50 locations in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and roughly 500–1,000 employees. In 2016 the company faced an unsustainably high annual turnover rate of 60% across roles from medical assistants to executives and sought to hire more computer‑savvy, intelligent candidates who fit the company’s culture.

To address this they boosted manager engagement and retention programs, revamped their interview funnel, and in 2017 partnered with Criteria to add standardized pre-employment assessments (CCAT, EPP, CLIK, typing, Excel) after phone screens for all roles, benchmarked to top performers. Within a year turnover fell from 60% to 26% (a 57% reduction) and reached 21% in 2018, while candidate quality and employer brand perception notably improved.
