A Criteria Corp Case Study
A 500–1,000-employee digital media company wanted to grow revenue by improving its sales team’s performance, measured in annual bookings. Facing uneven results across reps, the company needed a reliable way to predict which hires and incumbents would drive higher sales.
They administered the Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) and the Employee Personality Profile (EPP) to candidates and current staff, refined a CCAT baseline, and ran a local validity study on 179 employees. Scores on both assessments correlated strongly with bookings: reps who passed neither averaged $21,800, those who passed only the CCAT averaged $86,500, only the EPP $87,200, and those who passed both averaged $154,400—about 7× more than those who passed neither.
