A large, multinational technology company (1,000+ employees) sought to modernize its candidate experience and strengthen its employer brand by replacing a traditional cognitive assessment with a game-based alternative. To test the change, the organization ran a pilot with more than 220 employees across the United States, United Kingdom, and India.
Partnering with Criteria to pilot Cognify, a game-based cognitive ability assessment, the company found Cognify both valid and brand-enhancing: Cognify scores showed a significant relationship with manager-rated job performance, while 74% of participants said Cognify aligned better with their perception of the organization and 60% said it positively influenced their view. Participants described the assessment as fun, engaging, and more inclusive, with underrepresented minorities reporting greater opportunity to showcase abilities.
