A national chain of tutoring centers in the education industry wanted to boost the productivity and overall performance of its branch managers, who handle hiring, training and day-to-day operations. The company’s objective was to improve manager effectiveness and make better hiring decisions.
They implemented the Employee Personality Profile (EPP), a 12‑trait personality inventory with position‑specific benchmarks, and compared managers’ Manager‑benchmark scores to company performance ratings. Managers who “passed” the EPP (60%+ match) were significantly better performers (r = 0.45, P < 0.05): passers averaged a 3.57 performance rating versus 2.75 for non‑passers (≈30% higher productivity). Nearly all passers (≈96%) were rated average or above, compared with 63% of those who failed, demonstrating a clear lift in hiring success when using the EPP.
