A Criteria Corp Case Study
A leading global transportation and logistics company needed a reliable way to identify candidates likely to engage in unsafe behavior to reduce safety incidents, downtime and related costs across its driver and dock worker workforce.
They piloted Criteria’s Workplace Safety Profile (WSP) for 12 months, assessing 152 employees and comparing actual accident, injury and sick-day records. “High risk” employees had up to 3.5× more serious injuries than “low risk” peers, along with 53% more road accidents, 39% higher accident costs, 2.2× more total injuries, 2.5× more medical-treatment injuries and 11% more sick days. Adding the WSP to hiring allowed the company to screen out high‑risk candidates and reduce workplace accidents and costs.
