Gallagher Bassett, a global insurance provider that hires about 350 people annually (5,000+ employees), sought to optimize hiring for its high-volume Insurance Claims Specialist role to ensure new hires could deliver excellent service and perform on the job. The challenge was to efficiently identify candidates who would learn quickly, manage emotional labor with claimants, and fit the role long-term.

Gallagher Bassett partnered with Criteria to screen every candidate using three predictive assessments—Cognify (cognitive ability), Emotify (emotional intelligence), and the EPP (personality)—and ran benchmarking studies linking scores to performance. Results showed high performers scored higher on Cognify and Emotify, enabling the team to hire more top performers, streamline talent acquisition, give hiring managers clearer insights for selection and development, and provide a positive candidate experience.
