Case Study: Consulting Firm achieves higher analyst performance and retention with Criteria Corp's CCAT and EPP

A Criteria Corp Case Study

Preview of the Consulting Firm Case Study

Consulting Firm Improves Job Performance and Retention for Analysts

A mid-sized (200–500 employee) consulting firm wanted to boost job performance and retention among entry-level analysts who conduct industry research and provide strategic recommendations. The role requires strong critical thinking and self-motivation, so the firm needed better predictors of which recent graduates would succeed and stay.

The firm began using the Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) and the Employee Personality Profile (EPP) in hiring and matched scores to an Analyst profile. CCAT scores were strongly correlated with overall performance (r=0.46)—candidates scoring 37+ were seven times more likely to be high performers—and with promotions (r=0.23; high scorers ~7–8x more likely to receive multiple promotions). An EPP Analyst match over 89% correlated with retention (r=0.21), with those matches 2.5x more likely to remain at the company.
