Clean MD is a commercial cleaning and restoration company of about 90 employees serving Buffalo, NY and the surrounding area, with a specialty in medical facilities. The company received many applicants but found resumes unreliable for predicting on-the-job behavior like punctuality, productivity, and professionalism, so they needed a way to prioritize candidates most likely to succeed.
Clean MD added Criteria’s assessments (WPP, CBST, EPP, plus typing and computer tests for office staff) as a screening step between phone screens and interviews. After implementing testing, turnover fell from about 38% to 22% (a 53% reduction), regular hours fell 5% and overtime fell 31%, producing roughly $45,500 in payroll savings; the company also spent less time hiring, improved quality of hire, and found the assessments especially helpful for virtual hiring during COVID-19.
