FreshDirect, the online grocery delivery pioneer, was looking to boost success by improving referrals, placements, and pre-selling strategies as it transitioned to Criteo’s Retail Media Platform. As a long-time Criteo customer, FreshDirect wanted to expand inventory and strengthen benefits for brand partners across its ecommerce experience.
Criteo implemented a three-pronged solution focused on expanding ad placements, growing the referral program, and pre-selling to new and existing brands. The results were strong: reorder page placements quickly became a top revenue driver at 20% of total revenue, referred sales grew from single digits to 12% of total sales, brand advertising more than doubled, and FreshDirect achieved 167% year-over-year sales growth over 18 months.
