The YMCA of San Diego County, a major nonprofit employer with 5,000 staff across hundreds of roles, needed a better way to manage frequent safety and certification training. Its paper-based, manual system made scheduling, tracking and reporting slow and error-prone, and it was difficult to keep course information and completions up to date across the organization.
After selecting Cornerstone Learning and branding the platform as “Y University,” the YMCA ran a sustained communications campaign to drive adoption. The new system cut manual work, gave all 5,000 employees easier access to compliance training, provided real-time visibility and analytics for tracking certifications, and created a foundation for succession-planning conversations.
