How Wells Fargo created a culture of self-directed learning

Wells Fargo, a leading financial services company, set out in 2019 to transform learning and employee development for its 255,000+ employees. The bank needed a modern learning experience that would boost engagement, productivity, talent mobility, and change management, and it chose Cornerstone OnDemand’s Cornerstone Learning and Cornerstone Content Anytime to help meet those goals.

Cornerstone OnDemand implemented a self-directed learning environment with relevant content and ongoing support, enabling Wells Fargo employees to learn at their own pace. The results were strong: more than 50% of learners took 11+ courses, generating tens of thousands of completions each month, and 73% of learning was self-directed, with usage and engagement continuing to rise even during the shift to remote work.
