Global Nonprofit Delivers Critical Training to 8,000 Employees in 120 Countries

The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), a global nonprofit with about 8,000 staff working in 120 countries, needed a scalable way to develop broadly skilled employees and train partners across protection, operations, security, finance, IT and languages. In-person workshops were unsustainable due to limited staff time, restricted technology, language barriers and frequent staff moves, so UNHCR sought a centralized platform to harmonize content, delivery and reporting.

UNHCR implemented Cornerstone’s Learning Cloud and Connect in 2010, launching the “Learn & Connect” hub with eLearning, webinars, blended programs, mobile and offline delivery, social communities and enhanced reporting. The solution increased training reach and enrollment, improved talent readiness, fostered global collaboration, enabled field access via mobile/offline tools, and provided better metrics for planning and accountability.
