Year Up is a nonprofit that provides job resources to more than 2,100 low-income young adults across 11 locations, with 85% of graduates employed or in college full-time within four months. As the organization prepared to double its staff and introduce new business streams, its legacy talent systems couldn’t scale—recruiting was slow and informal (email and hallway conversations), onboarding was manual and state-specific, and work was duplicated across hiring teams.
Year Up implemented Cornerstone OnDemand’s unified talent management platform and partnered with the Cornerstone Foundation for HR consulting to redesign recruiting, onboarding, and performance processes. The result: a true talent pipeline, elimination of duplicate hiring tasks, streamlined state-specific onboarding packets, and pre-day-one training that accelerates time-to-employee, improves competitiveness for candidates, and increases hiring manager engagement.
