AccorHotels New Zealand, which operates 29 hotels with 500 staff, faced a time-consuming, paper-driven performance review process that relied on manual spreadsheet entry and made it difficult to consolidate performance data or assess employee potential. Managers and employees found the old review forms lengthy and outdated, limiting visibility into talent and succession planning.
Implementing Cornerstone Growth Edition let Accor automate and configure reviews with a new competency framework, potential assessments and a nine-box grid, eliminating paper and centralizing data. The change boosted review completion to 96% (from about 80%), 98% of users preferred the new system, 81% said it improved the quality of performance conversations, and leaders can now more easily identify high-potential employees.
