AECOM, a global engineering and construction firm, faced fractured, manual project controls built on macro-enabled Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Access that created single points of failure, reporting lags and inconsistent calculations. Seeking a scalable, standardized solution through its Construction Information Systems (CIS) Project, AECOM selected Contruent’s capital project management software to replace spreadsheet-driven processes and improve data visibility and repeatability.
Contruent delivered an integrated project controls system with out-of-the-box reporting, built-in Earned Value Management standards, multi-user access and ERP integration, which restored data integrity and sped analysis. As a result, AECOM gained complete data integration, greater scalability and productivity, and increased confidence in their numbers — driving a measurable 25% reduction in project controls cost per project from 2014 to 2016.
