A Content Guru Case Study
Herts Urgent Care (HUC) provides NHS 111 and GP out‑of‑hours services for over 3.3 million people in the East of England and faced the challenge of managing urgent, impromptu cases without putting patients and clinicians at increased risk of COVID‑19. Traditional pre‑scheduled video consultations were unsuitable for this environment, so HUC worked with Content Guru to deploy the storm® LINK On Demand One Way Video Consultation to enable ad‑hoc virtual assessments during telephone calls.
Content Guru implemented an easy‑to‑use capability within the storm Desktop Task Assistant so clinicians can send a single‑use WebRTC video link by SMS or email mid‑consultation; video can be ended independently while the audio call remains open. The solution is now routinely used by HUC, improving the reliability of remote clinical decisions, reducing face‑to‑face visits (and therefore infection risk), protecting clinician privacy for homeworking, and lowering resource costs as part of the wider storm platform.
