The outdoor gear company YETI faced the challenge of conveying the high-quality materials and true scale of its durable products to online shoppers, as the traditional e-commerce experience lacked the ability to physically examine items. To address this, YETI partnered with vendor Consumer Goods Technology and utilized an augmented reality platform from Vertebrae to create a more immersive digital experience.

The solution implemented by Consumer Goods Technology and Vertebrae was an immersive 3D and AR experience on YETI's website, allowing customers to view over 50 life-size virtual products in their own environment without needing a mobile app. This enabled shoppers to closely examine features, materials, and accurately gauge size. The initiative provided valuable new analytics on customer engagement and contributed to the success of YETI's direct-to-consumer channel, which saw sales grow to $580.9 million, representing 53% of net sales.
