Case Study: Royal Greenland Digitizes Seafood Procurement and Compliance with SAP BTP and Trifork

A Consumer Goods Technology Case Study

Preview of the Royal Greenland Case Study

Royal Greenland’s Digital Transformation in the Open Sea

The customer, Royal Greenland, a major seafood supplier, faced the challenge of digitizing the paper-based, regulatory-heavy catch reporting processes for its 2,200 independent Greenlandic fishermen. To modernize operations and ensure sustainability compliance, the company partnered with the vendor Consumer Goods Technology and leveraged SAP's Business Technology Platform to develop a mobile solution that could function in offline environments with spotty connectivity.

The solution implemented by Consumer Goods Technology was a series of co-developed iOS apps for fishermen and internal staff, built on the SAP BTP. This digitization provided strong offline capabilities and seamless back-end integration. The results included stellar user adoption rates, nearing 100% internally, and the successful digitization of mandatory reporting, which made it easier for fishermen to comply with regulations and for Royal Greenland to document its sustainability certifications.
