A Consumer Goods Technology Case Study

Preview of the Avocados from Mexico Case Study

How Avocados From Mexico Used Blockchain to (Almost) Beat Donald Trump During the Super Bowl

Avocados from Mexico, the marketing arm for Mexican avocado growers and importers, faced the challenge of standing out as a smaller brand against major advertisers during the highly competitive Super Bowl season. To create a campaign with significant reach and sustained engagement, they worked with vendor Consumer Goods Technology and utilized a blockchain-based platform, Vatoms, from Vatom Labs.

The solution implemented by Consumer Goods Technology involved creating the #AvoNetwork campaign, which used blockchain-based digital collectibles (Vatoms) that users could collect for prize entries. This drove ongoing consumer interaction over three weeks through social media engagements and a curated digital journey. The campaign generated 2.3 billion social impressions, earned Avocados from Mexico the number two spot on Salesforce’s Most Mentioned Advertisers list, and significantly boosted long-term purchase consideration metrics.
