South Dakota Department of Health identifies outbreak source by 8:15am with Conduent

The South Dakota Department of Health faced the challenge of rapidly responding to disease outbreaks across its large, sparsely populated state. Conduent's solution involved using the Maven platform's questionnaire functionality to deploy an online survey to people who attended a local basketball game where a food-borne outbreak occurred. This allowed subjects to securely enter their own data, enabling the health department to analyze the information by the next morning. With Conduent's Maven system, the SD DOH quickly identified the toxic food exposure, confirmed cases for testing, and avoided the need to deploy staff to the site for days of manual interviews.
