The Société Des Transfers De l’Outaouais (STO), the public transport operator for Gatineau, Quebec, sought to deploy a highly innovative and reliable contactless ticketing system for its network. They partnered with Conduent Transportation to implement this solution.

Conduent provided its contactless ticketing system, which was the first of its kind in North America. The solution proved to be exceptionally reliable, achieving a 100% availability rate for nearly a decade while seamlessly handling network expansions and a major system upgrade. The long-term success with STO led Conduent to deploy its systems across Quebec, and today 95% of the province's population has access to public transport using a Conduent ticketing solution.
