Conduent worked with a major rental car company to address the challenge of processing over 120,000 paper-based rental contracts daily. The initial manual process of scanning and digitizing these documents was inefficient. The client sought to overcome the difficulties of managing paper across its vast operations and to automate data entry for greater accuracy, cost savings, and speed.

The solution involved Conduent educating the client's staff and then implementing its proprietary Document Image Decoding (DID) technology. This AI and machine learning system was designed to recognize low-quality, dot-matrix text from carbon copies. The implementation achieved 94.5% automation, drastically reducing human intervention. This transformation to a one-touch process saved time and money for both companies and allowed Conduent to expand its services to process over 786,000 documents of various types per day for the client.
