A Conduent Case Study
Comutitres, an economic interest group managing fare collection for public transport operators in the Île-de-France region, faced the challenge of modernizing its onboard ticketing systems across a network of 65 different transit operators. The group needed to implement a new, common Embedded Platform (PFE) to support modern fare media options, including contactless and mobile payments, as part of the wider Ticketing Modernization Program (PMB). Conduent partnered with another company to offer a comprehensive solution for this large-scale project.
Conduent implemented a tailor-made, ITxPT-standard solution to replace all onboard platforms, involving the installation of 50,000 validators across the bus and tram network. This shared platform facilitated modern ticketing services, enabled greater interoperability between systems from different stakeholders, and was designed to reduce operating costs for each transit operator. By providing this common platform, Conduent helped create a foundation for new pricing schemes and contactless operations across the entire Île-de-France region.
