Case Study: BMW achieves faster, lower-cost IT consumable distribution with Computacenter's vending machine solution

A Computacenter Case Study

Preview of the BMW Case Study

Computacenter designs a concept to simplify the distribution of IT consumables based on a classic vending machine

BMW Group sought to simplify and reduce the costs of distributing IT consumables, or C-parts, to its employees. The existing process for items like mice and adapters was slow, required managerial approval, and was more expensive than the items themselves. Vendor Computacenter addressed this challenge with an innovative service and concept for automated distribution.

Computacenter implemented a solution using a converted commercial vending machine. Employees could use their ID cards to access peripherals 24/7, which eliminated the approval process and automatically assigned costs to the correct department. This approach from Computacenter significantly reduced procurement costs and streamlined logistics for the BMW Group.
