ZEG - Customer Case Study

ZEG, a purchasing cooperative that connects roughly 1,000 owner-managed bike stores in Germany and sells brands like BULLS, needed a flexible, future-proof omnichannel commerce platform to support Content Commerce and scalable brand shops. To address this, ZEG selected commercetools’ cloud-based e-commerce platform (integrated with Magnolia for WCM) to replace its rigid legacy solution and enable new business areas such as e-bikes, leasing and services.

Using commercetools as the technical core and Magnolia for front-end delivery, ZEG rolled out a two-track program for dealer sites and brand stores (starting with bulls.de), enabling dealers to publish business pages, product listings and soon full web shops. The commercetools-powered solution delivered immediate adoption (about 100 dealers registered at launch), much shorter brand store build times (~three months), greater independence for the online team, and an automatically scalable cloud infrastructure that freed ZEG from operational overhead.
