A commercetools Case Study
ModCloth, recently acquired by Go Global Retail, faced significant technical debt and an aging e‑commerce platform that limited product publishing, personalization and fulfillment capabilities. To modernize quickly, Go Global Retail selected commercetools’ headless, API‑first, microservices commerce platform (alongside Fluent Commerce for distributed order management and implementation by devgurus/DMI) to rebuild ModCloth’s end‑to‑end customer experience.
commercetools’ cloud‑native solution gave ModCloth real‑time product publishing, more flexible customer experiences and smoother fulfillment workflows. The replatforming dramatically reduced time to market—moving from intermittent code releases to three to four releases a month—improved operational efficiency, and produced a standardized digital playbook that Go Global Retail will roll out to its other fashion brands.
