Case Study: Promod achieves a scalable, brand-aligned MACH eCommerce platform with commercetools

A commercetools Case Study

Preview of the Promod Case Study

How Promod built a new commerce platform with a MACH-based architecture

Promod, the French women’s ready-to-wear retailer present in 10 markets with nearly 600 stores, needed a new eCommerce platform to grow digital sales (online was 8% of turnover and 60% of in-store purchases are digitally influenced) and to pursue a goal of tripling digital revenue by 2025. To replace an aging monolith and better express the brand online, Promod chose commercetools Composable Commerce and a MACH-based, API-first architecture, working with ContentStack for CMS and Valtech as systems integrator.

Using commercetools as the headless commerce backend for cart, orders and checkout, Promod built a flexible, mobile-first commerce stack that decouples frontend and backend and supports scalable traffic. Since the relaunch Promod reports strong platform stability and resilience under load, early encouraging commercial figures, and active exploration of commercetools’ capabilities by IT and business teams — positioning the retailer to scale its digital revenue toward its 2025 target.
