BIC turned to commercetools to modernize its digital commerce platform and support a future-proof digital strategy in a highly competitive market. Working with insights from multiple business units, BIC aimed to build a modular B2B solution that could handle different regional needs and improve the ordering experience for distributors and customers.
Using commercetools Platform, commercetools B2B Commerce, and commercetools Frontend, BIC launched a new B2B portal with features like quick order, region-specific catalogs and promotions, and a volume calculator for shipping costs and taxes. The solution improved performance and reduced downtime, went live in MEA in March 2024, and now supports over 150 B2B customers across more than 100 countries and six currencies.
