A commercetools Case Study

Preview of the Audi AG Case Study

How Audi integrated in-car commerce and rolled it out to 26 countries

Audi, the German luxury carmaker, needed to shift from a bureaucratic, legacy IT approach to an agile, global commerce strategy to support next‑gen electric vehicles and a fragmented network of dealerships and systems. To modernize in‑car commerce and product data management at scale, Audi partnered with commercetools and moved its product information management onto the commercetools commerce platform.

commercetools delivered a cloud‑native, 100% headless commerce platform and central PIM that enabled Functions‑on‑Demand, real‑time over‑the‑air updates and integration with web, app and in‑car channels. As a result, Audi customers can buy and activate new car functions through the myAudi app, the solution was launched in Germany and rolled out to 26 countries, supports updates to millions of cars and mobile devices, and lets Audi introduce new eCommerce business models in weeks.
