A commercetools Case Study
Eurail.com, a fast-growing Dutch eCommerce company selling Interrail and Eurail passes worldwide, needed a more agile, developer-friendly website and CMS that could handle complex B2B partner integrations and be migrated during live operations with zero downtime. To meet these requirements, Eurail.com selected commercetools’ cloud-native, API-first eCommerce platform alongside Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) for front-end content management.
commercetools delivered a hybrid content-and-commerce architecture built on modular microservices and APIs, allowing an incremental in-background migration (POC in Oct 2017, MVP in Oct 2018) without disrupting the live site. The implementation cut maintenance costs significantly, sped up API integrations with partners, and enabled non-technical staff to publish content and run campaigns faster—improving time-to-market and overall operational agility for Eurail.com.
