Cognizant helped AQUATEK, a Monsanto brand, turn a business vision into a simple mobile tool that lets farmers monitor field health and water use and set precise irrigation plans without installing costly management systems. AQUATEK needed an easy-to-use, device-agnostic solution that would alert farmers to problems early and enable better decision-making in the field.
Cognizant delivered an intuitive UX, satellite-linked soil moisture probes, crop-health maps and local weather integration, plus alerts and an animated intro video; the service is now used across several European countries. The solution gave farmers greater control and improved yields while achieving 17% water savings, 17% gains in irrigation productivity and fuel efficiency, and adoption by about 300 farmers.
