Cognizant worked with a global pharmaceutical client in the life sciences sector that was facing declining clinical trial enrollment in North America. To prevent cutbacks and the migration of research abroad, the client asked Cognizant to reimagine a patient‑centric support program to maintain and increase trial participation.

Cognizant ran context labs and in‑clinic visits with patients and providers, mapped emotional and physical pain points, and generated 16 ideas that were distilled into three validated core concepts. The resulting multichannel program—combining web, print and event elements—delivers empathetic, engaging and empowering patient experiences, aligns with the client’s business goals and has already earned internal awards.
