Cotality, a provider of information services and analytics for the real estate industry, faced high costs and scalability issues with its on-premises infrastructure. They partnered with Cognizant to migrate a critical, high-revenue business unit to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to leverage its analytics capabilities and avoid significant cost overruns before a strict Q1 2024 deadline.

Cognizant successfully executed the complex migration, which involved refactoring applications for Google Anthos, moving hundreds of databases, and using infrastructure as code. The results were significant: over 500 on-premises servers were eliminated, more than 150 applications were migrated, and Cotality achieved a 25% cost savings while future-proofing its infrastructure and enhancing security.
