A global medical device manufacturer wanted to move a specialized, hospital-only therapy to an at‑home, connected solution to make treatment more affordable and accessible, but development delays left little time to build connectivity and a patient-friendly user experience. Facing an aggressive timeline, the company engaged Cognizant to accelerate connectivity and improve the device’s end‑user experience.

Cognizant delivered a connectivity roadmap, provided a PLM administrator onsite to manage data and product records, and simplified the UX so patients and caregivers can operate the device and transmit data easily. Ongoing work includes RFID deployment for rechargeable components and data integration to enable preventive maintenance—efforts that improve patient experience, reduce device downtime and are expected to complete in six to eight months.
