Cognizant partnered with a major European bank to modernize a critical wealth‑management application that was costly, slow to change and tied to legacy platforms. The bank’s goals were to reduce operational complexity and costs, boost developer productivity and speed up the rollout of new features while integrating with existing technologies.

Working with Pivotal, Cognizant refactored the application to a cloud‑native architecture on Pivotal Cloud Foundry, integrating IBM MQ and SQL Server and providing a CI/CD pipeline, DevOps workflows and a reference architecture for future migrations. The proof of concept delivered auto‑scaling and auto‑recovery, cut code deployment from 15 days to 45 seconds, reduced mean time to repair and paved the way to move the app into production and extend the approach across the portfolio.
