Xi’an Jiaotong–Liverpool University (XJTLU) is China’s largest international joint-venture university, focused on becoming a research-led global institution. With campus-centered infrastructure, its website was slow and intermittently available to off-campus and international users, so the university needed an easy-to-manage solution to improve global performance and availability.

XJTLU selected Cloudflare for a unified CDN and security platform with nodes across China and the world (via a Baidu partnership), which cached content closer to users, reduced geographic latency and bandwidth use, and protected the site with page rules and a Web Application Firewall. The result: 59% more pageviews, 81% more users, 65% more sessions and 58% savings in bandwidth, along with improved stability and security.
