Case Study: ScoopWhoop achieves 84% bandwidth savings and improved site performance with Cloudflare

A Cloudflare Case Study

Preview of the Scoopwhoop Case Study

ScoopWhoop uses Cloudflare to ease bandwidth costs while improving website performance

ScoopWhoop Media — which operates ScoopWhoop, Vagabomb and GazabPost and reaches over 30 million users per month with roughly 380 million content views — was facing rapidly rising bandwidth and infrastructure costs from serving high‑resolution images to a growing audience. Building out in‑house infrastructure would divert engineering resources and wouldn’t address rising bandwidth bills quickly enough.

ScoopWhoop adopted Cloudflare’s CDN, caching content from data centers in 200+ cities and using Page Rules and Mirage image optimization to serve lightweight virtualized images while high‑resolution assets load. The change cut bandwidth use by over 84%, improved site performance and reduced security and scaling headaches, allowing the team to focus on their core product.
