A Cloudflare Case Study
Polestar, the independent Swedish electric performance‑car maker, needed to fix sluggish performance and availability for its media‑rich Configurator and web properties in China. Their existing CDN struggled with China’s restrictive internet infrastructure, causing latency, peering and DNS issues that undermined customer confidence—while Polestar also sought a proactive development partner to support a micro‑front‑end architecture and enterprise‑class delivery and security as it scaled globally.
Polestar migrated to the Cloudflare China Network (backed by JD Cloud), switched to Cloudflare’s global CDN and adopted Cloudflare Workers for edge development. The move delivered immediate, predictable performance and developer agility: cache rates rose from under 80% to 99.7%, the site absorbed a Super Bowl‑driven 500% traffic spike (about 150,000 visits) and customers completed over 2,000 vehicle configurations without incident. The result was faster, more resilient sites, smoother releases, and a stronger foundation for future edge services.
