Playtech cuts DDoS mitigation to under 10 minutes with Cloudflare

Playtech, a major technology provider in the iGaming industry, required a global infrastructure partner to help them scale efficiently while maintaining non-negotiable security and performance standards. Their existing solutions had limitations in data residency and flexibility, hindering innovation. They sought a vendor like Cloudflare that could provide robust DDoS protection without adding operational overhead.

Cloudflare implemented its Magic Transit service to provide always-on DDoS mitigation, completing the deployment in under 12 hours. The solution also included Web Application Firewall (WAF), CDN, and other services from its connectivity cloud. As a result, the vast majority of DDoS attacks were mitigated automatically in less than 10 minutes with near-zero user impact. Cloudflare's solution also improved player latency by 35-40 milliseconds and eliminated the need for geoblocking as a fallback strategy.
