Kinsta is a premium managed WordPress host serving tens of thousands of sites worldwide. Many customer sites are high-profile targets for DDoS attacks, and Kinsta’s GCP-based, in-house mitigation and SSL management required significant manual effort, coordination across 100+ load balancers, and caused occasional downtime. Containerization further complicated routing, creating scalability and operational challenges.

Kinsta adopted Cloudflare DDoS protection, SSL for SaaS, and Cloudflare Workers with Workers KV. Cloudflare automated attack mitigation, eliminated the need for GCP load balancers, and removed manual SSL rollouts while improving custom-domain load times by 40%. Workers provides scalable, per-domain routing and configuration (handling over 15 billion requests per month), freeing Kinsta’s teams to focus on product and customer service.
