A Cloudflare Case Study
Tinton Falls Fire District No. 1 needed reliable internet for firefighters who use shared workstations at the firehouses but faced rising malware and ransomware risks when volunteers and administrators accessed the web. Fire Commissioner Andrew Calvo wanted a proactive, affordable way to protect those computers without hindering access.
They deployed Cloudflare Gateway to filter DNS at the network level, enforce policies via a centralized dashboard, and tap Cloudflare’s threat intelligence across millions of properties. Gateway was configured across two stations in minutes, blocked 1,000 malicious requests in the first 30 days, cost 60% less than a competing Cisco solution, and will soon be extended to mobile devices in the fleet.
