Gyazo is a cloud-based screenshot and screen-GIF service used by millions worldwide (roughly 45% Europe, 15% Asia, 40% US). With all servers originally in the US and a CDN that only helped downloads, international users experienced extreme upload latency, and Gyazo’s own edge upload servers suffered performance degradation during traffic spikes.

Gyazo deployed Cloudflare Global Load Balancing (with health checks and Failover) to route users to the nearest healthy upload server and rapidly reroute traffic on failures. The result was dramatically improved international upload times, no degraded performance during peaks, seamless failovers, and reduced engineering overhead so the team can focus on product development.
