A Cloudflare Case Study
evo, a Seattle-based omni-channel retailer whose online store drives about 85% of sales and peaks on Black Friday/Cyber Monday, faced growing risk from automated traffic, malicious bots and potential DDoS attacks — plus operational complexity from multiple vendors for CDN, WAF and DNS. With uptime critical during holiday peaks, evo needed a single, easy-to-manage provider to protect performance and reduce infrastructure overhead.
evo adopted Cloudflare’s integrated stack (WAF, DDoS protection, CDN, Rate Limiting, DNS, Argo Smart Routing and Workers), which consolidated services and simplified operations. The WAF now blocks roughly 80,000–90,000 malicious requests per week, Argo cut page load times by nearly 40%, and Workers let evo retire a legacy image-mapping service, lowering costs, reducing attack surface and easing origin scaling.
