Case Study: Eurovision.tv restores service during DDoS and boosts site performance with Cloudflare

A Cloudflare Case Study

Preview of the Eurovision.tv Case Study

Eurovision was taken down with DDoS, Cloudflare brought it back online

Eurovision.tv, the official site of the Eurovision Song Contest that draws millions of viewers during semi-finals and the Grand Final, was knocked offline by a large, evolving DDoS attack at a critical moment. Their existing CDN and hosting partner couldn’t fully mitigate the attack, leaving global visitors unable to access results and live streams.

Cloudflare was brought in to mitigate the attack and restore service, immediately reducing server load and bringing the site back online. Beyond rescue, Cloudflare’s CDN and Page Rules improved load times and reliability, enabling Eurovision.tv to retire its old CDN and maintain stable performance through subsequent peak weeks.
