Curse protects and enhances its gaming communities with Cloudflare

Curse builds large gaming communities and operates Gamepedia, the world’s largest gaming wiki platform, serving over 50 million users and more than 1 billion page views each month. Because of its focus on gaming, Curse was a frequent target for large, frequent DDoS and botnet attacks that overwhelmed on‑premise defenses, slowed or knocked sites offline, and forced painful workarounds like black‑holing domains.

Cloudflare’s security suite—particularly its DDoS mitigation and Rate Limiting—was deployed to absorb and route attack traffic at the edge and throttle malicious requests at Layer 7, protecting origins and login pages. The result: 1,600 community sites remain online and accessible, constant attackers are mitigated, and Curse’s communities can reliably return to enjoy the content.
