CoinGecko, a cryptocurrency data analytics site launched in 2014 and based in Singapore and Malaysia, serves a 360-degree view of crypto markets to traders and enthusiasts and sees over 100 million pageviews per month from around the world. Because speed is critical in finance, CoinGecko struggled to maintain low latency and consistent performance as its global user base rapidly grew and sought a partner that could provide global scale and reliability.

CoinGecko uses Cloudflare’s CDN, Argo Smart Routing, and DDoS protection—starting on the free plan and upgrading as needed—to speed the site and simplify operations. The results: average response time fell from 690 ms to 232 ms (a 66% improvement), 77.2% of traffic is smart routed, some regions saw nearly 80% gains, and the team can scale globally while keeping engineering resources lean.
