Cloudflare supports Bitso’s rapid expansion with Zero Trust security and performance optimization

Bitso is the largest cryptocurrency platform in Latin America and the region’s first crypto unicorn, serving over two million customers across multiple countries. Rapid user growth, a shift to remote work and reliance on fragile VPNs left the company exposed to increased cyber threats, performance bottlenecks and slow employee provisioning, so Bitso needed a Zero Trust security model and network performance optimization to support its expansion.

Bitso upgraded to Cloudflare’s Enterprise Plan and deployed Cloudflare Access, Argo Smart Routing, WAF, DDoS protection and Rate Limiting. The solution cut internal access provisioning from hours or days to minutes, improved response times by an average of 47.24% (up to 60% in Brazil, 42% in Argentina, 38% in Mexico), blocked over 7.5 million malicious requests per month, and enabled Bitso to scale reliably as traffic doubled.
