Case Study: Dig achieves zero downtime and scalable, secure online ordering with Cloudflare Pages and Workers

A Cloudflare Case Study

Preview of the Dig Case Study

Cloudflare provides Dig with a fast and secure online ordering portal that rapidly scales during peak periods

Dig (Dig Inn) is a fast-casual restaurant chain focused on cooked-to-order, plant-forward food with nearly 50 locations and about six million customers a year. After online orders surged during the pandemic, Dig needed a secure, fast, and highly available online ordering portal and an informational site that could seamlessly scale during lunch and dinner peaks—when even minutes of downtime would materially impact revenue.

Happy Cog built both sites on Cloudflare Pages and Workers: a headless React ordering app deployed via GitHub Actions and edge routing on Workers, plus a CMS-backed informational site using Cloudflare CDN, Cache Break API, S3 assets, and Polish image optimization. Protected by Cloudflare WAF, the solution has delivered zero downtime since launch, saved developers hundreds of hours annually by eliminating server debugging, and blocks thousands of threats each month while performing reliably during peak traffic.
